The first day of February has come and gone, and this means we are getting closer and closer to Valentine’s Day. Ah Valentine’s Day, a time of red and pink roses, boxes of assorted candy and candlelit dinners. Many movies have a plot based around it and cupid’s calendar is planned around it. Women constantly day dream about a romantic Valentine’s Day complete with their significant other telling them how much they love them. Read More

Hair Styling Simplicity
Although blow dryers, flat irons and curling irons are used to make hair look its best, many times they are caught red handed when it comes to damaging hair. The high heat setting that most of these tools are set to can cause hair to become brittle, create split ends and even contribute to hair loss and thinning. Does this freak you out as much as it did me? I use a blow dryer six days out of the week. It’s usually accompanied by a flat iron or curling iron. After I learned just how bad these tools are for my hair, I could only come to the conclusion that I will be bald by the time I turn thirty.

I have good news, though. After realizing that my conclusion might be slightly exaggerated, I talked with one of our instructors and she let me know that there are ways to reduce the damaging effects of blow drying, curling and flat ironing. Of course, giving your hair a break from the heated tools is always a good idea, but for many women that isn’t always an option.
We want to help everyone out there who is just as freaked as I was thinking about the horrible damage I inflicted on my hair daily. You can schedule an appointment on February 10th or 11th that will include:
- A shampoo and blow dry complete with explanations of how to use a blow dryer without damaging your hair
- Info about the way to use your favorite styling tool not only to be less harmful to your hair but to get the best styling results
- Knowledge about what products are going to work for your hair type when it comes to styling and tips on how to get the style you want
There is a $10 charge to reserve your appointment, but that $10 will go towards whatever product you want to buy after your appointment. So book your appointment and put your premature balding fears to rest.
Easy Braided Beauty
Braids of many varieties have been everywhere in 2011. Simple clean braids, fish tail braids, braided buns, one sided braids … the list goes on & on. One braid that is particularly easy and very stylish is the messy over-the-shoulder braid.

Perfectly Messy!
This is a great look for the everyday; comfortable, simple and stylish all rolled into one. Below are the steps to take to achieve the messy braid:
- If you can, don’t have freshly washed hair when attempting a messy braid. Hair has more texture and will hold any style better when hair hasn’t been washed for a day or so.
- Sprinkle a small amount of Pure Abundence Hair Potion (pictured below) into your hands and rub them together. The powder will turn into a liquid-like substance. Then scrunch it throughout your hair, making sure to apply all over.
- Next, take a dime-sized amount of Control Paste (pictured below) in your hands and rub them together. Then work your hands through the mid-section to the ends of your hair. This will give your hair texture and make it pliable without shine and stickiness.
- You’re now ready to braid! Pull hair over one should, divide into three pieces, and begin to braid. While you’re braiding be sure to keep the braid somewhat tight. Finish your braid by tying it with a clear elastic.
- Now go down the braid with your fingers, gently pulling at the braid to make it look mussed. How much you pull at the braid will determine how messy it looks – complete this step until your desired level of messiness is achieved.
- Finish by spraying your braid with Air Control Hairspray (pictured below) to keep it perfectly messy all day!
